As a teacher there is no better feeling than when you hear your students professionally produced soundtracks - and if you go on to record music, send your teacher a copy.
Miners' Hall Studios are situated in the purpose-refurbished Miners' Hall, once home to the Sunderland silksworth community. After months of planning and design engineering, the Hall has refurbished over a 10 month period into the acoustically brilliant facility it is today. The Studio is soundproofed to ensure minimal sound leakage and maximum sound capture and is fully equipped with industry standard equipment with software that lets you produce a professional sounding soundtrack. If you like the idea of recording in a new and cosy studio then Miners' Hall is right up your street. You can find them at 12 Blind Lane, Sunderland, SR3 1AT.
The Bunker is quite a unique recording facility as they provide free rehearsal and recording hours to those who are passionate about music but don't have the financial support to embrace it. With the aid of Sunderland City Council and other charitable sponsors, the studio can afford to nurture the grassroots of the Sunderland music scene in a way that would have been previously impossible. For those with a few notes floating around, rates are still very good for the services offered and you'll find it hard to match this anywhere in the city. The facility is packed with more than 15 purpose designed rooms and equipment is either on hand or available to hire. We highly recommend recording with the Bunker as they're vastly experienced when it comes to helping people record for the first time and the facility doesn't really put a foot wrong in any other department either.
High Fidelity is a facility that only offers rehearsal spaces, which can be a life-saver for any aspiring singer whose parents or neighbours complain about noise because they take one too many afternoon naps than they should. High Fidelity has a number of rooms including a room with a stage for gig rehearsals. The facility is full of decent equipment so there's no need to have to haul heavy amps or voice projection systems halfway across the city. It's all here and available for a good price, so if you like a little bit of space when you practice, High Fidelity should be your first port of call.
